What Your Training Left Out About Midlife Women

About This Workshop

Midlife women represent one of the most underserved and misunderstood populations in professional practice. The hormonal, metabolic, and psychosocial shifts that define perimenopause and menopause create a unique constellation of needs that most practitioners were never trained to address.

This 3-hour workshop equips social work professionals with a practical, evidence-informed framework for working with midlife women clients — from assessment to culturally responsive intervention to interdisciplinary collaboration.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify physiological changes of perimenopause and their impact on client functioning
  2. Apply a biopsychosocial framework to assess midlife women clients
  3. Distinguish scope boundaries when collaborating with other professionals serving midlife women
  4. Develop culturally responsive practice strategies for diverse midlife women clients
  5. Integrate metabolic health concepts into holistic care planning
